Why is Évora O Cante Hotel inspired by Cante Alentejano?
The origin of Cante Alentejano is still a mystery, but it is a traditional singing style deeply rooted in the Alentejo region. Through the unique use of the voices of its singers, which can reach up to 30 performers, Cante Alentejano is a cultural and social expression of Alentejo. The lyrics explore traditional themes such as rural life, nature, love, motherhood, religion, as well as themes related to the cultural and social context.
For this reason, Évora O Cante Hotel chose a theme that is inseparable from Alentejo as its inspiration. A symbol of the community that has been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2014.

Is Évora O Cante Hotel a themed hotel?
Yes, Évora O Cante Hotel is a themed hotel inspired by Cante Alentejano, a cultural and social expression of the Alentejo region, performed without the use of any instruments other than the voices of its singers.
Cante Alentejano means having Alentejo in one’s voice. It has been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2014.

Check-in is available from 4:00 PM.
If you arrive before 4:00 PM and your room is not ready, don’t worry!
Our reception will store your luggage in a secure location.
If you need to check in early, please ask us about availability. Extra charges may apply.

Check-out must be completed by 11:00 AM.
If you wish to extend your stay or check out late, please contact reception, subject to availability and additional cost.
