Long before there were roads and even rail links, the Port Wine producing estates were only accessible via the Douro River. It was in this context that the Rabelo Boats emerged. Made of wood, loaded with barrels of Port Wine, to age in the Vila Nova de Gaia Cellars and then be released into the world.

Air conditioning – The remote control in your room allows you to select the temperature. For proper air conditioner function and energy efficiency, windows should be kept closed. In case of any doubt, please contact the reception.

Amenities – bathroom – At your disposal: shampoo, bath gel, soap, shower cap, and soap.

Check-out – Check-out time must be realized no later than 11:00 a.m. After that time the hotel reserves the right to charge the equivalent of a daily room rate. If you wish a late check-out you must contact the reception in order to request authorization to do so, subject to the hotel’s availability. We kindly ask all our guests to comply with the check-out schedule set by the hotel.

Fire – In your room and hallways there are floor maps. Our fire alarm is tested monthly. In case of emergency, please contact the reception immediately: dial 9.
Fire alarm – All rooms are equipped with highly sensitive smoke detectors. The alarm system will be activated in case of excess of smoke in the room.All exits are marked with proper light signs. In case of fire never use the lifts, follow the emergency signs, take your personal documents and room key with you.The meeting point, in case of an emergency situation, is outside, next to the hotel entrance.
First aid – A first aid kit is available at the reception.
Flowers – At the reception you may request information on local flower shops and/or have flowers delivered to the hotel by request.
Form suggestions/comments – For the purpose of improving our services, we ask that you answer our satisfaction questionnaire that will be sent to the email indicated in the reservation.

The connection between Wine and the Douro River is undeniable, as is the connection between the Rabelo Boat and the Rabelo Boat. The Rabelo Boats carried barrels of Port Wine, which was aged in the Vila Nova de Gaia Cellars and then sent out to the world.

Safe – We advise our guests to use the safe in their room, which is available free of charge. The code for opening/closing the safe is set up by each guest. If you need help, please contact the reception by dialing nº 9. The hotel is not responsible for any valuables left in safes, rooms or public areas.
Safety – Ensure that the door is locked when you leave the room. To enter or leave the hotel use the main entrance. If you notice something odd/suspicious, please inform the reception.
Schedules – All transport and cultural or sports activities schedules will be provided by our reception on request.
