Hotel da Bolsa was established in 1993, but its building dates back to 1908, with construction extending until 1928. These two dates are perfectly represented in the building, respectively in its south and north towers.

The art of trading was already part of the lives of the people of Porto long before the construction of the Palácio da Bolsa began in 1834.
The Palácio da Bolsa, or the Palace of the Porto Commercial Association, in the city of Porto, began construction in October 1842, following the closure of the Stock Exchange Trading House, temporarily forcing Porto merchants to conduct business on Rua dos Ingleses, outdoors.
